Two zones are available: .vexr.dev and .is-local.host. Both are free. More zones may be added in the future.

Are vexr.dev and is-local.host on the Public Suffix List?

Accepted Answer

No. Neither vexr.dev nor is-local.host are listed on the Mozilla Public Suffix List. This means cookies without an explicit Domain attribute may be accessible to sibling subdomains. We have a pending PSL submission.

How do I verify my GitHub account?

After signing in with GitHub, you are asked to star the official vexr.dev repository. This prevents abuse and ensures every subdomain is linked to a real, active GitHub account that is at least 30 days old.

Yes. Each DNS record has a one-click Cloudflare proxy toggle in the dashboard. Enabling it routes traffic through Cloudflare's CDN, giving you DDoS protection, caching, and HTTPS without extra configuration.

How do I connect my subdomain to Vercel?

Add your .vexr.dev subdomain in Vercel project settings. Vercel shows a CNAME target (e.g. cname.vercel-dns.com). Add a CNAME record in the vexr DNS dashboard with that target and Cloudflare proxy off. Vercel detects propagation automatically within minutes.

How long does DNS propagation take?

New records typically propagate within 1–5 minutes because vexr uses Cloudflare's DNS infrastructure. In rare cases it can take up to an hour depending on your ISP's resolver cache TTL.

How many subdomains can I claim?

Accepted Answer

Currently each GitHub account can claim one subdomain per zone — one .vexr.dev and one .is-local.host.

Is this service free forever?

Accepted Answer

The core free tier — one subdomain per zone, full DNS management, Cloudflare proxy — is intended to remain free. Any future paid features would be additive.
